Being refined means to make even the smallest of impurities to show up! God knows what is pure, and what is not! Being prepared for refining means to overcome the thoughts about knit-picking! If there be any subtle bitterness, it will show up during this process. Questions will be asked, and the attitudes will be shown! Your honesty of heart will play a big part in this.
Compared to what? Over against means to be put in a position to be compared to someone or something else! People rushed to see Jesus, even though some other famous person and well-known was present! There are those whom God has exalted, and there are those whom the world has exalted. Who excites you the most? Amen!
When evil rules in a society, things get really screwed up. The minds of the people are screwed up; but, they believe they are right and wise. The evil ruling in the leaders will make laws that will ensure things get all fouled up, and people will destroy one another. It is a society that is filled with stupidity; and, the pride of the minds makes them to believe they are smart and right! Blindness causes them not to be able to examine what they have allowed, nor to be able see the destruction that has taken place because of that which they have allowed. This is that destroying force that brings about the end of the world! The Lord spoke about this evil as destroying wonderfully, which means to bring about destruction without people being aware that they are being destroyed! People are being moved by evil, whose sole purpose is to destroy all living! Evil is ruling in the hearts of the people. Evil dictates to people what they will accept and believe. The minds are made hard against reasoning and listening to sound judgments.
